Our student’s innovative work “Waste Collection Station” developed by S3 Li Sin Tung, Kwan Tsz Hin, Yuen Hei Pui, Huang Tsun Hei, has been interviewed and reported by media recently. Their project uses the micro-controllers and artificial intelligence system to distinguish garbage and classify recyclable waste, and controls the opening and closing of sorting bins through program coding, which enhancing the awareness of community and recycling resources. The student’s work won the third runner-up in the junior secondary school category in the Hong Kong Student Science Competition 2021. It is expected that the students will continue to improve their works in the future, make good use of STEM knowledge to further improve the society, and develop their 6C deep learning competencies.
