On July 3, students from our school embarked on a 9-day trip to Italy to explore the history of the Renaissance period. Along the way, they visited cities such as Milan, Pisa, Siena, Florence, and Rome.

They toured the world’s largest Gothic cathedral – the Milan Cathedral; and had the chance to closely appreciate the works of the three Renaissance masters: the creative concepts of Da Vinci, the original David sculpture by Michelangelo, and Raphael’s famous fresco The School of Athens.

The students also visited architectural wonders from the textbooks, such as the Roman Colosseum, the Pantheon, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Through this immersive experience, the students gained a deeper understanding and appreciation of the artistic achievements and historical developments of the Renaissance period. They are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to join the school’s history study tour again next year.

Kunming, Lijiang, and Dali exchange program

Kunming, Lijiang, and Dali, China

Our students recently embarked on a 6-day, 5-night (2-7July) cultural immersion trip to Kunming, Lijiang, and Dali. During this enriching journey, they gained fascinating insights into the histories and traditions of 25 different ethnic minority groups in Yunnan.

The highlights included hands-on experiences that allowed our students to truly connect with the local cultures. They mastered the intricate art of Bai tie-dye, creating their own beautiful scarves. They also learned how the Dongba people skillfully craft traditional paper using tree bark. Our students found these interactions with minority communities to be eye-opening and incredibly rewarding.

Beyond these cultural workshops, the itinerary also took our students to scenic spots like the Erhai Lake ecological corridor, the ancient town of Lijiang, the picturesque Flower Language Ranch, the lively old streets of Kunming, and the majestic Yulong Snow Mountain. One particularly magical moment was when they felt transported to Turkey’s famed Cotton Castle while exploring the breathtaking Blue Moon Valley.

Although the weather prevented them from seeing the snow-capped mountain, our students were still captivated by the “Impression Lijiang” stage performance, which further immersed them in the Naxi Dongba culture.

This transformative cultural exchange program provided our students with invaluable opportunities to deeply engage with Yunnan’s diverse ethnic heritage. It was a truly enriching experience that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on them.

Sydney Study Tour

Sydney, Australia

A few weeks ago, our students and students from Man Kwan QualiEd College and Jockey Club Man Kwan Eduyoung College visited Sydney while practicing the cultural exchange tour. During every single English class in the morning, we deeply explored the history, culture, and ecology of Australia. After that, we could experience the various things mentioned in the lesson immediately. During the excursions, we had also been to Taronga Zoo and the Sea Life Aquarium, where we could get a chance to see unique Australian animals such as kangaroos, koalas, dingo, etc.

On the other hand, we visited a lot of famous landmarks in Australia, like Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House, Sydney Tower, and Bondi Beach. We definitely enjoyed the amazing scenery and view. In addition, we also had the opportunity to visit the University of Sydney and the University of Technology Sydney, which could give us a look at the well-known seat of learning.

Last but not least, each of us could get lots of chances to communicate with locals in English. That’s a rare opportunity for us to practice English and we gained a fruitful journey in Australia!
